CTMH Technique Blog Hop

 Technique Blog Hop- Blank Canvas

Welcome to the CTMH Technique Blog Hop.  If you are coming from Marianne Hancock Blog, then you are on the right track
This month we are working on different ideas that you can do with just a simple 6" x 6" canvas. My theme for this project is :
FAMILY.
Finished size:  6" x 6"
Materials-

Canvas  ( Z1818)
Cricut- Artfully Sent  ( Z3017)
Red enamel Hearts  ( Z 2009)
Carstock Chocolate  (X 5643)
B & T Paper ( any with green tones)
B&T paper Yuletide Carol ( X7187B)
B&T Paper Heartstrings ( X 7193B)
Flaxen extra thick twine ( Z3036)
Stamp set Family Love ( D1506)
Stamp set Happy Mail ( C1570)
Glitter glue
Sm. brass key
Mud Pod
Brush
 Black ink Pad (Z2105)
Crystal Blue ( Z2117)
Alcohol markets
 Sponge dauber

 Cut Tree-

Tree image is in page 11 from the Artfully Sent Cricut. It is in the sleeve section, size 5.5"height.
you will need to cut one in chocolate cardstock and the other one in a B&T green tone paper, so you can alternate the leaf colors. You need to keep the chocolate top layer of the catdstock  to trace the location of the leaf and tree trunk. Set aside.
Save the top layer for tracing.
Back ground paper.
Cut a 6"x 4" of the Heartstring paper and dab with sponge dauber along the edges. Stamp the Family Love sayinf on the right side of the paper as show below.
Stamp 2 of each clouds from the Happy Mail. One of the set of clouds will be used to make the sky background and the other one is to be glued after we fished with the background.

Dab Cristal Blue around the edges .

Cut two ( 6" x 2" ) B&T Paper (Yuletide) and cut a hill shape and dab with chocolate ink on the edges. These will be the ground.

Cut grass and glue to the back of ground paper
Brush a layer of Mod Podge on top of canvas. Place sky back ground and ground paper on top of canvas. let it dry. Paper may bubble up, just push it down until it dries.
Trace the tree trunk and leaf with a pencil. Glue pieced to canvas.
Glue leaves to canvas

Once you have glue the tree, clouds and leaves, brush-on a layer of Mod Podge. (Do it before you add the hearts and glitter).
Once the canvas is dried, add the hearts to the tree. Brush another layer of Mud pug and when canvas is dried you can decorate the leaves with glitter glue.

**If you add glitter before brushing Mod Podge it will cause the glitter to smear.

Once the canvas is dried, tie twine around the canvas and  bow tie. You can add a charm with family initials or add a key like I did.
Now Hop on to Melissa Robinson blog.

Have fun making it your own!
